The story behind
the puzzle solver.
Joey was one of the first loan officers to join Olympus — back when the team was small and the standard was being set from scratch.
He came up the right way. Early in his career at a Miami brokerage, Josh pushed him toward cold calls — the old school foundation that teaches you how to handle rejection, build pipeline from nothing, and earn every relationship. Joey did the work. And then he went further.
While most LOs his age were still grinding the phones, Joey recognized early that the game was changing. He built a presence on LinkedIn — intentional, consistent, genuinely his own — and turned it into a real referral engine. It paid off. His network grew not because he was selling, but because he was showing up with value and people noticed.
What sets Joey apart on a file is harder to teach than prospecting. He thinks differently. Where other LOs see a dead end, Joey sees a puzzle — and he's unusually good at solving it. Hidden income streams, complex qualifying scenarios, files that came back declined somewhere else — Joey has a track record of finding the path when others stopped looking. Stubborn isn't an insult in his world. It's the whole point.
Off the court, Joey is building his lending career. On it, he's a licensed basketball referee currently officiating JUCO games with his sights set on the NBA level. The same qualities that make a great ref — composure under pressure, sharp attention to detail, instant decision-making — show up in exactly how he runs a file.
Stubborn enough to find a way when everyone else filed it under "no."
